To properly recharge an a/c system. You need both the high and low side guages. Both the high and low side pressures need to be correct or you can damage your compressor. You also need to pull a vacuum on the system to remove any noncondensable gases. You also need to be sure the vacuum holds. Before adding the refrigerant.
