I too dislike colorized movies. The colors never look real...they always have a "washed out" look. But any "Big Sleep" is better than none at all. One of the top film noirs ever made. Though the story is at times confusing, the dynamite cast & scintillating dialog make up for any lapses in plotline. Such as who killed the Sternwood's chauffer. Even Raymond Chandler said he didn't know who did it. But I think it was Joe Brody, though he denies the deed when talking to Marlow. THANKS for posting!

You shouldn't show these colorized things. It's like hearing a great piece of music played on a kazoo.

One my favourites movies from my favourite author.
have tv hooked up to the computer.
turned off the colour on tv and left it on the laptop.
picture definetly looks better in b/w. You don't get the same atmosphere in colourised version
I remember the colour from "Leave her to heaven. That was
gorgous.
I've seen Bogart, Powell, the two Montgomerys, Gould, Mitchum and Booth. Although it's not the best movie version, my favourite is Robert Mitchum's characterisation in "Farewll
my lovely"

I think the "Go ahead and scratch" part at 2:00 approximately was ad-libbed and was not part of the film. I guess Bacall had itch. LOL. As well, I prefer this film in black and white, as apposed to colour. It is a great film.

The colourization is clever, but the film is more powerful in its original black and white.

colorized??? someone didn't get the memo, this is a classic film noir, it's supposed to be in black & white.
