God I miss this game, havent played it in an age and a half. To bad trying to find a copy now-a-days is a damn near impossible.

The hammerites shoes are designed to let other hammers know that they are not villains or nails :P.
As for the killing, that would spoil the fun. You can't annoy a dead hammerite...unless he's lying on the ground a certain way *gets holy water*.

Well, you may be in luck some time in the future. The source code has been leaked, prompting comments about flying pigs. If you haven't heard of source code before, it's basically like the coding that makes up everything in the game. If that lies in the hands of some very fortunate fans, they can do all kinds of cool stuff with it.
Improving the AI is a handful of gold coins compared to the dragon's treasure cave that is the source code for Thief 1 and 2.
