Libyan rebels would welcome Colonel Gaddafi talks to end 'bloodshed'

A Libyan rebels spokesman has denied any direct negotiations with Colonel Gaddafi's regime but said that they would welcome any proposal that would stop the "bloodshed".

The African Union cannot be a trusted mediator in solving the Libyan conflict. Qaddafi himself created it and financed its operations for years using the oil resources of the Libyan people. As a matter of fact many of African leaders are on his payroll. How is it then possible they can be trusted by the Libyan people to be on their side to oust this blood thirsty and murderous dictator. I believe this is just a tactic by Kaddafi and his African leaders toys to buy time.
