For C harp, played in the key D.
http://www.harmonicajamcamp.com

On the C harp, the 4 draw is a D note, and 3rd position is the art of playing your C harp in the key of D. What lays out most naturally is a minor key scale, and an easy to play blues style.

Joshua Fought the Battle of Jericho

4d / 5b / 5d / 6b 6d 5d 6d
Joshua fought the battle of Jericho

6b 5b 6b 6d 5d 6d
Jericho Jer i cho

4d / b / 5d / 6b 6d 5d 6d
Joshua fought the battle of Jericho

5d 6b 6d 6b 5d 5b 4d
And the walls came tumbling down

You know how important it is, in 2nd position, to master the 2d** bend (the flat 7th note) and also the troublesome 3d* (the flat 3rd)?

Playing in 3rd position, you can play the equivalant of 2d** at 4 blow.

And you can get the equivalent of the 3d* at 5d.

So a harder "bending required" 2nd position riff like this 2d** 2d 3d* 2d
can be played with no bending at 4b 4d 5d 4d.

The 2nd position "Up Riff" is played 2d 3d 4b 4d* 4d.

The 3rd position Up Riff is played

4d 5d 6b 6d* 6d
Once you go below hole 4, you need to bend the 3d to to 3d**, and you will want to bend the 2d to 2d**.

3rd Position Scale from 1d to 4d (play backwards and forwards)
1d 2b 2d** 3b 3d** 4b 4d

  • could not find your harp on ebay. where do I get one and how much are they? Sure sound good would like to have a few, thanks

  • @srsteve12 ???? I am not selling harps on e-bay. It's just a normal harp I am playing here.

  • Lee Oscar is the only harp I will play, it's easy and sounds great and lasts a life time.

  • @srsteve12 Lee makes great harps, but you can make them all sound good if you have an open and relaxed embouchure.

  • Hey Jon,

You should do a book like " Bluesify your melody " only all third position tabs . I'd buy it in a second .
