sounds like a pretty high fast idle, last carbed vehicle i had was my 86 Sivlerado, i liked the fast idle at 1000 then 700 warm idle

When I had my 75 Ford LTD I put the "cop" hub caps on it which just cover the lug nuts rather than the wheel cover types for this very reason. Thanks for sharing with us. I miss my gas guzzling Ford.

Very nice! I ended up going to chrome wheels on my '78 Grand Marquis for the problem you were discussing...the hubcaps would not stay on and it was almost impossible to get to the valve stems to inflate the tires. My headlight knob came off too but I was able to find a vintage metal knob with a set screw to replace it.

sweet its also cool that you can bolt a 460 up to the bellhousing of a m block with no mod's at all.

400 is not a small block it is a "M" Mid block lol

The "M" stands for modified, its used on the 351m which is basically a destroked 400 thats where they get the term "modified". They only used the "M" on the 351m to differentiate it from the 351 cleveland and 351 windsor. I guess it all comes down to how you define what a big or small block is. I like the term mid block tho, it kind of sums up the 351m/400 pretty well since it has characteristics of both big and small blocks. Next time ill just call it a 400 lol
