@noirkitten I've never met anyone by your description but it sounds like you're insulted by lesbians. I think in Aileen's case (movie talk only) I think she never really knew her orientation, sex was just a part of her everyday work, a chore even. Maybe it wasn't Shelby's gender that made her fall for her, just the fact she gave her that attention she never had before. It happens to a lot of people, even men. You just don't hear about it.

The english Wikipedia says, that Rose Byrne had an uncredited role in this movie. The girl on the left at 1:17 looks like her in a certain way. She's also seen at 0:17 and in Monster part 7/11.

Maybe it's her, but it is definitely not easy to recognize.
