1999 Primestar 500 Review

If you watch the start of this race and wonder "WTF??" It's how the coverage began. I just kinda left it in for historical purposes... I guess.

OK. So I've been a member of the TBK forums since early 2005, around the time when YouTube was getting popular (if it was before then, sue me). I joined for the racing clips, even though I only had a 56k modem, and ended up staying on as a proud member to this day. I have uploaded whenever I could, but I also made my fair share of requests. One of the more consistent requests I made was anything from the 1999 Primestar 500, where Jeff Gordon was in (what he claimed, until that point in his career) the hardest wreck of his career, and Terry Labonte claimed a very popular win.

Not a single one of thr requests was fulfilled... though, who cares, right? It's just a silly clip.

Going through my VHS collection, lo and behold, I find this race. I hope you enjoy it as much as I got a kick out of finding it - even though I am a Jeff Gordon fan.

I have been looking for this for a very long time, just because Jeff Gordon says (At the time of his accident) this was the hardest hit of his career and injured his ribs. I'm a Gordon fan and Ive never seen the crash. Awesome upload, I love watching the races from the mid-late 90's when I was just a kid in grade school. Awesome!

@KKFan9 The whole race is currently being posted in parts... but yeah, whenever I'd look for a clip of Gordon's wreck (I am also a fan of his), I couldn't find anything. Then, while going through my tapes, I actually found this race. Crazy...

Anyhow, hope you enjoy these compilation clips - for a guy like me who doesn't have the time to sit through 20+ clips of racing footage to maybe not see what I wanted, it's perfect. Hope a few others feel the same way!

I own this race, and I do have a intro piece to it, albeit it's not very long and there are major tracking problems from Squier's intro to the starting grid.

I must say, Gordon's hit there is among the top five worst hits I saw at this track. Skinner's 1998 and Sacks' 1998 wrecks were bad as well as Scott Riggs from 2006.
