  • Thank you for the video. Pardon my asking, are you aware of the health affects of Borax and Washing Soda to be handling them seemingly careless as you did? Be very careful not to breath it in or leave it on the skin and be absolutely certain that it is washing completely out of the diapers because borax in particular causes harm to infant genitals.

I would recommend that you wear gloves and mask as you would while cleaning the toilet, while handling these ingredients and a high speed processor.

  • @Asylumescapee69 Thank you for your concern. However, I cover the processor with a wet cloth which stops any of the powder from getting into the air so I don;t breathe it in. Also if you look on 90% of your detergents on the market...you will find that they all include these ingredents minus the soap. sodium borate is another term for borax. Check YOUR box of detergent. :)

  • Do you use the same processor you use for food or do you have a separate one for detergent?

  • @EmilyB70 No, I used my older one for detergent only and other "crafty" type things.

  • Do you still primarily use this for cloth diapers?

  • @reneeandherlife No, not anymore. I just stopped making it.

  • @carlynicoleelliotte Oh no worries, I know they are common ingredients. My greatest concern is it adequately being washed from clothing. I find that my washer fails to prevent residue on certain fabrics, and generally speaking none of these chemicals actually manage to sanitize clothing of microbial life (which is important for cloth diapers...) I'm looking into incorporating a magnetron from a decent microwave to assist drying and sanitation. Not like I use those things for cooking my food ;)

  • @carlynicoleelliotte When we used cloth diapers we actually bought a tub of this excact mixture to clean ours and it worked great!

  • @dibzz Never had a problem with mine. I think it all depends on the type of water a person has. I know a lot of people who use this formula with no problems.

  • Most cloth diaper manufactures tell you NOT to use soap based detergent with the diapers. It does not wash clean and will cause buildup and eventually repelling issues.
