I am going to ban the Notre Dame mascot because my ancestors are Irish and the fact they use the mascot as the Fighting Irish highly offends me.Or maybe I am going to ban the Oklahoma State Cowboy because it is highly offending to white people. Maybe the Georgia Bulldogs. I have a bulldog and the fact they use a bulldog as the mascot just is insanity. Not. I dont give a crap. These people need to learn that they are being recognized if anything by the mascot. Un freakin believable.

Well David, how about a calm voice? Here is something to think about. The Peiora Tribe, the last of the Illini confederation, first supported, but then didn't because UI refused to quit mocking the Lakota tribe. Why should UI be able to "honor" a group that doesn't want to be honored?

As a Boilermaker, one of the best reasons to travel to Illinois to watch a game was the Chief. I'd never miss a halftime.

I feel the same way. I am a direct desendent of the Trojans. I am offended they use a man dressed up like a trojan. The problem I have run into now is the negative comments about native americans. They are no longer looked at with honor but rather with contempt.
