NOTE: shaky video, think of as enhanced audio

Neil Gaiman talks about his rabbi and tells a rabbi joke in response to a question about the influence of his Jewish upbringing on his work.

This is part of his talk at Keplers on October 3, 2006, for "Fragile Things". Please see other clips from this talk as well.

  • @nuppaluppagus His dad was high up in the scientology hierarchy and Neal himself has completed many courses in scientology, however from what I hear hes become very disillusioned with it all and has distanced himself from the organization in recent years.

  • Does anyone know what his religious views actually are?

  • these freaking scientologist people are driving me crazy... he's clearly not a scientologist!!!! but this is an interesting video, thanks for posting. i had heard that he was brought up jewish but never from his own mouth

    thanks!

  • He's awesome, my absolute favorite comic book writer hands down. I wish he was a rabbi. Then he'd be Neil Gaiman, the world's first comic book savant rabbi ;)

  • Very cool, I hadn't heard much about Neil being Jewish before.
