  • Understand this. A terrible plan for health care reform is worse than NO plan. Also understand this. The sunshine law in Florida works and works damned well. I applaud Vern for this attempt to force some open honesty from this gang of thugs. This administration is bringing to light those career politicians who have forgotten what the definition of "Public Servant" really is. In 2010, many will be reminded.

  • Good for Mr. Buchanan !!! Maybe if there was MORE "Sunshine" in our politics we'd have less of the crap coming from Washington. Every time I turn around I find them digging deeper & deeper into my pockets & getting less & less.

  • Respectfully Mr. Buchanan, I think you should be right in there with them trying your best to help hammer out a solution to our miserable healthcare dilemma instead of trying to make them look bad with this ridiculous :sunshine" stuff. All other such committees are not public until the time comes to vote. Why is this such a big deal? Because you want to make them look bad to detract from the real issue, that's why. Shame on you!

  • As a constituent in Congressman

Buchanan's district, I am very familiar with his unbroken track record of voting the Republican ticket when ever the situation permitted. My question is, over the past 3 months when every wingnut, along with the pharma industry, launched the most offensive campaign to derail health care reform, did Mr. Buchanan do anything to bring "sunshine" to the debate? Does "sunshine" include disclosing how many dollars did Mr. Buchanan receive from health care corporations?

  • Good job Vern! This is what we want! Stand up and be aggressive for us! We can't be there, so you must speak loud enough for all of us here in your district! Keep up the great work! DEMAND they are open. No negotiations, just what is right!

  • Have you listened to Obama's networks of nbc, abc, cbs and cnn???Talk about BIASED!! Fox tells it like it is, good or bad for republicans, or democrats. Didn't the interviewer put him on the spot? Yes he did.

  • im fine with the the general idea of transparency in government. But republican are good at keeping secrets and closed doors like cuvuto says. whats up with the flying door graphics. calling this door gate is a weak attempt to create another Gate type scandal. And it seem to me that fox really is a media outlet for the republican party and not a legitimate news organization. like i said i support transparency in government, new nuclear powerplants and im proud to call myself a liberal american

  • I think Rep. Vern Buchanan is correct in wanting open door policy in this. He has been and,I think, will continue to be a representative of the people whom elected him. I find that he has invited people to speak up about many issues, and he LISTENS to what the people say. That is refreshing. I DO believe that no "party" representative should be locked out rooms where decisions are made that determine in which direction our country is headed. WE have elected them and we can vote them out.
