RX8 racing on Firebird West - Dezod West vehicle

This is the road racing Mazda RX-8 from DezodWest.com. The course is Firebird West in Arizona. The mods are somewhat basic for the meantime, but expect to see a more modified version of this car in the next few months. DezodWest.com is the builder of the vehicle, and all of the installed parts are available on the site. We've been very successful so far in making a formidable race car so far with minimal investment. Enjoy!

What times did you pull on that track? I pulled a 1:12 on the RX8 with the intake/exhaust/and coilovers. The last event (this video) wasn't timed but the car felt faster without the cat and the colder track temps.

So has this car been turbo'ed? And what tires were you on?

Not turbo'd yet. Running NA while I get more familiar with the car and complete the custom turbo build. That run was on Nitto Invo tires. 245/40/18 front, 275/35/18 rear. They're high performance summer tires. I think with R compounds the car would be a lot more planted on some of the lower speed turns.

Last time out I was turning 1:08 and 1:09 laps consistantly. Here is a 1:08 lap I ran about a year ago.

My brother has run a 1:14 lap with his gutted/coilover/slick tire/ 112hp MR2.

You got that right. R compounds made up seven seconds on my brother's MR2 and 4 seconds on an STi I run with on Firebird West.
