This shows the KDE Plasma Mobile shell, that behaves quite differently from the usual.
The Plasma Mobile user interface is designed for mobile phone sized types of devices: bigger tablets needs something different.
Since plasma-mobile is heavily based on QtQUICK, it's possible to give a radically different behaviour on different devices without actually touching the c++ code.
Some components of Plasma-netbook were heavily optimized for touch based devices, with an heavy use of flicking widgets.
they are used there, but with a different default behaviour compared to the Netbook shell.

  • using his finger like a gorilla

  • was this difficult to use? I keep trying to install on vbox and it doesn't work.

  • This finger is suffering from touchscreen repetitive strain injury, please see doctor.

  • @Varghjarta I think so, it is just another Plasma containment (like the folderview desktop compared to the default desktop or the netbook shell) with a different layout ("clicking" a widget results in it maximizing) and a few minor adjustments and I think going from plasma-mobile to plasma-tablet wasn‘t that hard of a step. When using plasma-mobile on a big screen it behaves the same way. (Maybe this is just plasma-mobile on a bigger device, who knows^^)

  • @prickett233 He is using his fingernail.

  • The guy shows off something cool and some of you just want to make fun of how he is using his finger... it's such a great world we live in! ...

Great demo, KDE is rapidly improving it will be interesting to see where it goes from here.

  • what's wrong with his finger? lolzzz

  • Nice job, man. Pretty impressive.

  • What device is that?
