In this edition of how to pwn a YEC, the laughable concept of irreducible complexity is dissected further and the team of experts at the Jaguar Jones Institute lay out their case for the tarring and feathering of Michael Behe.

  • It's been my experience that most people who insult "Ishtar" haven't even seen the thing. Sure, they went way beyond their budget, but it's a funny movie.

  • @Naiant What a sad existence you must live :D

  • Seriously... WTF's up with you and pangolins?

I sense freudian reaction hanging in the air...

Other than the pangolin bashing, great vid, as always!

  • I am getting sick of this crap. I am in the process of making a video that will PROOVE pangolins are tottally gay. I would finish and post it right now if I wasn't piss drunk.

  • Can anyone imagine small incremental steps leading from a steam engine to an internal combustion engine. Of course not, even though they share common parts, and similar functions. There are no intermediates steps leading to modern car motor from a steam engine. Similarly there are no intermediate steps in the evolution of the eye, but massive steps from one design to another. Evolution is pseudoscience.

  • Another evo has taken the bait. Miller takes away not 1 but 40 parts, leaving only 10 parts. And this is a good argument for you. Clearly you are a not a rational thinker. So assuming the fragellum motor has 50 parts as Miller has implied. A good argument would be to show, a functioning bacterier with only 49 parts. THAT would be a good argument. But seeing as he removed 40, they have to be readded with your imagination. Evolution is pseudoscience.

  • When I was first exposed to irreducible complexity the same propaganda also insisted that pi was equal to 3 because the bible says it is so.

  • I was saying... since there are an unfathomable number of bacteria and other organisms, especially taking in all those through the billions of years that have passed- HA even the number that would exist in a fictional 6000 year old Neo-Biblical worldview every so often there is a mutation that may result in the nub that is the start of a tail.It doesn't need "purpose," only that ones with that mutation were able to mate or survive and go through mitosis or whatever they do. Eventually u hv tails

  • Well, I don't think Jaguar explains how these could evolve properly. I did enjoy the video but he lets his words fly speedy at an irregular pace. But really, thanks for posting these. I get the main point.

The religious who push off sleazy, false versions of science always stir up this sort of confusion. Behe assumes, or at least puts forth that each part develops on its own and wouldn't if a nub had no function. Mutation doesn't work that way. Mutations happen regardless so some nubs...

  • ohhhhhhh sellout!

  • @ultimategoobah It's like an armadillo, but with sharp scales instead of a shell. Found in Africa.

  • Ishtar wasn't that bad.
