how come he tracks it differently than when he teaches how to play it? :/ it's different than what he shows in dissected :/

@cassmi87 well, I think what he means is the ENTIRE song is downpicked. I don't even play bass regularly; I'm a rhythm guitarist. However, I have picked up a bass a few times and though it's not hard in concept or execution to downpick at that speed, it takes a lot out of you to do it for a whole song. Why do you think John has those guns? You don't get those from sitting around doing nothing, do you?

@zeldav10 someone who does not like the song. Either they are not a headbanger or have a HORRIBLE taste in metal. Either way, we must respect his opinion, even though he is vastly outnumbered.

@cassmi87 haha i couldnt find the right words but your right

@rocklee5x Actually, it's the full answer :P

@dh152004 not sure what you mean by metal tone but if you either mean brightness or dirt, they're achieved with strings and overdrive or distortion, respectively. "Attacking" the strings only makes the attack of each note more pronounced and the bassline more percussive. :)

@Bobowhazaar I normally downpick at that speed and I wouldn't exactly call myself freakin' amazing. :D I'm not saying that he's not talented but downpicking at that speed isn't hard.

someone needs to type up the PROPER TABS for this song. Sooo many tabs screw up the beginning and the after solo bit

LEGENDARY MUTTON CHOPS!!!

I don't even play bass, But that rhythm on the guitar solo is beastly!
2:35-2:55 As a bass player myself, I must profess as to how absolutely amazing that was.
