Must have seen Mothers Finest 6 or more times @ Savannah GA Civic Center from 79-81 while in high school. They always "OWNED" whoever they opened for and the audience, much to the dismay of the headliner taking the stage in Mothers Finest's wake! I still remember them opening for an Atlanta Rythm Section concert and front man Ronnie Hammond comming out and saying he didn't know if ASR should even bother to preform after that. Most DANGEROUS opener ever...Who can follow them?!?!

Love MF used to go to Tokyo to see them perform when I was in the Air Force between 73 &75.I'm glad to know that they are still performing.
Forgot the female lead singer's name back then.Help!

I love reading comments from people who've just now stumbled upon the MF force of nature.
Yes, hearing Baby Jean and MF for the first time is something akin to a religious experience. Joyce fucking brings it...she has a glorious black woman's voice pumped up with a hard rocker's mojo.
She's right up there with Aretha, Patti, and Chaka in vocal talent, but she kicks all of their asses with her take-no-prisoners attitude.
