@daimyoyo smoking around adults and smoking around children who are growing and developing are two very different things. There have been studies demonstrating that smoking around children can have adverse health effects for them, particularly if a woman smokes while pregnant. This episode is not supposed to be about raising your kids in a cloud of smoke, it's supposed to be about banning smoking in bars and restaurants because of health risks that have not been adequately demonstrated

I absolutely understand how nasty smoke is for non-smokers.

Having said that, a PRIVATE bar should have their right to have a "smoke-free" or "smoking" establishment. If smoke-free bars are wanted, bars will convert to accommodate the paying customers. If there isn't enough demand for a smoke-free bar, then it likely wont be offered. Either way, it should not be forced on a PRIVATE establishment. The day smoking was banned in indoor public spaces in the UK i was delighted, why should i breath it in, if you want to kill yourself and smoke fuck off outside in the cold.

It amazes me just how stupid some Americans can still be. The World Health Organisation have absolutely no motivation to make things up, and it has been proven on countless occasions that second-hand smoke is harmful.

You guys really need to catch up with Europe, you're about 400 years behind us at the moment.

People just deny it because they don't want to change the way they live, but it's the same people who think guns should be legal and homosexuality is wrong. And they call it liberty...

I don't know... those smokers make a point that can easily be turned against them. They make it out like non-smokers consider themselves the center of the world, I could say the same about smokers - they consider them selves the center of the world and how dare you not let them smoke when surrounded by nonsmokers... Everything could be solved so easily with a smoker-mask or something so that surrounding people wouldn't have to sniff the tobacco in low-smoker-areas and vice versa. Everyone'd win.

If these crybabies really cared about air quality,they would drive electric cars,demand that all gas/deisel powered engines be banned,and fight all of industry for spewing millions of tons of toxic fumes into the air annually.Nope they go after smokers.This country loves to fuck with a minority does'nt it?Narrow-minded self-intrest does'nt impress me.I smoked for 25 yrs and 3 yrs ago I quit.Not for health reasons,but because I felt I wasn't annoying enough of you assholes at one time! =D
