At an ABC affiliate in Tallahassee, Florida a robotic camera goes crazy. I hope this happens to all the stations that get these stupid things. Actuel people would not do stuff like this. And getting these robots puts good people out of work.

  • But the look on the stage managers face... priceless :)

  • Those cameras are Grass Valley cameras, which mean...

    THIS STATION'S AUTOMATED! Hooray!

This is what usually happens when stations replace their control room with a computer that switches video and controls audio by itself.

  • and i also love how she's saying "you have to find a way to make it work" as the camera pans. haha

  • That's pretty funny. A camera askew.

  • Rotfl, I love that guy standing behind the cameras. His expressions are awesome~

  • guy got embarassed.

  • "Actual people would not do stuff like this." What about the camera guy in the Walmart commercial who dropped the camera because he was staring at his Walmart receipt?

  • Because at ABC 27, even stage managers get their 15 minutes of fame. ;)

  • gotta love those grass valley cameras! At one of the stations I interned at, we had the Ignite system and we never had a problem like that. I feel like the joystick operator hit the next cue and the cameras switched to the weather desk.

  • It felt that stagehands deserve fame too.

This is without a doubt correct....and it was not just the one camera. To me, it looks as though the automated system decided to "home" the robocams. As more and more stations automate Production Control and Master Control, this type of thing will become a common fixture of local television news.

  • Could be interference from a cell phone
