Award winning unofficial prequel to The Lord Of The Rings dramatising Aragorn & Gandalf's long search for Gollum directed by British filmmaker Chris Bouchard. Based faithfully on the appendices of the books this is a non-profit, serious homage to the writing of J.R.R Tolkien and the films of Peter Jackson.

It was shot on locations in England and Snowdonia with a team of over a hundred people working over the Internet. It took two years to make and was released as a non-profit Internet-only video by agreement with Tolkien Enterprizes.

This Youtube version is slightly extended with 1 scene added back in.

  • beautifully done with a lot less money.photography is excellent.shots are very fine.i particularly like all sequences without music, not that the score aren't good. but the very stubbornly music in LOTR was one thing i really hate.i love hearing the moves and the birds and the swords. Congratulations to all artisans of this little gem.

  • Uruks are badass. Orcs are pussies.

  • SPOILER ALERT!: @28:22, it is finally revealed that Aragorn has not one, but FOUR fathers!!

  • He should use that bow of his as well, or is it only for hunting game for food?

  • Omg why did they choose a ginger to play Aragorn? Where is the wisdom of his many years as a ranger and healer? I do not see it on his face, for example, as he stares dumbly with open mouth as Gandalf speaks to him.

  • the voice of gollum is so good!

  • The actor who did Gollum's voice did an awesome job. It sounds almost exactly like Andy Serkis.

  • read his comment again. dang.
