and, yes, if something is heavily based off of a culture, it generally will mean that they will resemble the race of that culture. how much sense will it make when the white girl playing katara starts writing something in chinese? none, it'll just look stupid.

am i going to boycott the movie just because of this? no, hell, i'll probably go see it on opening night. that doesn't make the casting decisions any less fucking stupid.
