From its extraction through sale, use and disposal, all the stuff in our lives affects communities at home and abroad, yet most of this is hidden from view. The Story of Stuff is a 20-minute, fast-paced, fact-filled look at the underside of our production and consumption patterns. The Story of Stuff exposes the connections between a huge number of environmental and social issues, and calls us together to create a more sustainable and just world. It'll teach you something, it'll make you laugh, and it just may change the way you look at all the stuff in your life forever. http://storyofstuff.org

  • @134tommy134 its all those corparations.lol

  • Most true thing I've ever heard. Amazing!

  • AMAZING!! SO TRUE!!!

  • why would you dislike this...

  • I think termination is meant to be for humanity in long run, just like space and time... There's a big bang, there will be a big crunch. Entropy will only increase, we can't try to "recycle" entropy.

It's a cycle... Civilization will fall and new civilization will rise.

We are meant to consume resources...and eventually die individually and die as a species.

I think it's silly to believe humanity can last forever.

  • rosario dawson sent me here!

  • Normally I prefer old school... but i'll go for the new school here !!

  • Actually in Switzerland we recycle those so called juice boxes (Tetra pak). Plus even if you didn't recycle them and just throw it away it is still much more ecological then a PET bottle that gets recycled.

  • Not being hindered by any facts and greatly exaggerating really doesn't help get your message across. As much as I agree with the broader message of over-consumption, this video just makes me sad.

  • Plz don't lie when you don't need to, it takes away your credibility.

First of all, lumber is a renewable resource and the companies that exploit it are well aware of that fact: that's why they spend billions of dollars planting trees to make sure they'll never run out of it. Greed is not dumb.

Secondly, consumption is also marked by a large quantity or non-reusable products that will never be reusable. Food easily represents 10% of our economy, it also turns into feces after consumption.
