Properly bedding in your brake pads and rotors is absolutely critical if you want to squeeze the most performance from your brake system. Unfortunately, many enthusiasts dont understand how or why they should be doing this important procedure. In this inaugural episode of Know Brakes, Jeff Ritter teaches you everything you need to know to prepare your brake pads and rotors for heavy use.
Armed with the knowledge in this video, youll be able to get better feel, longer wear, and less noise out of your brake system. Youll also save money and get more enjoyment out of your car.

For the full version that includes in-car footage of the process, before and after component photos, and an interview with AP Racing engineer Steve Hood, please visit www.essexparts.com/learning-center

  • Good stuff guys! The trick is finding a place where you won't have to come to a complete stop. Difficult to find a place in the city.

  • No we cant see smoke, sparks or a blue heated up brake disc as the video quality is shit house!

  • nice vette

  • howcome you do it twice? what about bedding them in just for normal ceramic pads?

  • cool..

  • Cool vid. Just what I was looking for. I've read about bedding in new brakes/rotors, but wasn't sure if I was supposed to come to a complete stop or not. Now I know!
