@profgv2011 "Propaganda"? You're being melodramatic. If you don't like the acting, singing, or staging -- fine. But don't blow things not to your taste out of proportion by labeling them "propaganda." I'm sick of that word being improperly used.

My cure for this is to look at Scotto, Bergonzi....and feel the intensity lacking here...

This is baloney.....Too busy, everyone over acting with out any real facial expression....Lucia hardly looks like she regrets the situation.....another HD piece of opera propaganda....

@colino72 So true that is is a vocal contest. But the opera is also known as a piece where soprano's can show off their skills in the role of Lucia. So no wonder it is a vocal contest.

This was my favorite opera song from the grand theft auto 3 double cleff station, I've heard all the renditions of it I could find and if Lucia isn't just as strong as the other voices the song is lost this is the best copy I've hear so far. Her voice is strong yet vulnerable and you can hear her through the commotion. The male voices are usually excelent but I think she's the best Lucia.
