Six months after Allied Forces liberated German concentration camps, a military tribunal formed at Nuremberg to prosecute Nazi war criminals. Some of the most dangerous were brought to justice--but not all. Over 4,000 former Nazis went to work for the U.S. government, without the public's knowledge, to help fight the Soviet Union. Reinhard Gehlen, an intelligence officer for Hitler's General Staff, was tapped to head the U.S. intelligence program in West Germany to spy on the Russians. At the same time, former Nazi scientists and engineers were welcomed onto American soil. In 1998, a bill was finally signed into law that mandated declassification of documents concerning recruitment of former Nazis. We dig into the records to see if the ends justified the means and ask how far the U.S. should go to partner with a former enemy to fight another.

  • Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So the War Machine keeps going and dictating to the people what to think. In 1945 the world sighed as the 2nd World War finished. Well it finished did'nt it? No, whilst the people felt rejoiced, the army was employing mass murderers to teach science. A German resume reads, 69 hangings, 1200 shot dead, 78 knives in the back, 5 KGB Agents mutilated & human rights abuse. UUUUmmm......"WHEN CAN YOU START?"

  • Nobody is supposed to know that the privately owned US-Fed was the major financier of the Nazi war machine & one of the first chairmen supposedly even had a brother or a half brother as the Nazi war finance minister at one stage which the Korean war was used to distract attention from so is it so amazing after all that after the war the exact same dynamic & power structure in control pre-war & during the war was still in control after the war...???

    MEIN-GOTT DER-DICKS...

    DUMB STUPER-FATHERN...

  • I've got the whole show on a DVD box set. Great show.

  • sad to say that though nazis where sent to bolivia to start a new life there is a large german community in the city of obrajes where i grew up in and the girls are the most beautiful people ive seen :)

  • @Jamigreen09 God Bless Hitler and the CIA,and God Bless the righteous and Godly Bush Family !

  • "Can a former Nazi general be trusted? It's a question that will haunt US intelligence for years to come." Please spare me. Wild Bill Donovan, Allen Dulles and many others were in love with these guys. The symbol of the CIA is a short few strokes away from the Nazi Eagle. This is damage control. We have a fascist government today. The only diff' is the Nazi gov' took over the corporations of Germany. Deceptively orchestrated, in the US our gov' has been taken over by corporations. Same Monster.

  • @ArthurSavillesCrime The problem originated because weed WAS an asset, at least hemp was, in direct competition with cotton. Cotton William Randolph Hearst was heavily invested in. Not hard to start a smear campaign and demoinze something when you have basically a monopoly on the media.

  • @bradMi80 Exactly. Human brutality is repeated ad nauseum throughout recorded history and no doubt beforehand. And we have the gall to call ouselves superior to the rest of the animal kingdom. We're not different, we're just smarter. Waging war on your own kind almost seems like a biological imperative to intelligent animals.

  • US intelligence didn't vet Klaus Barbie's reports because the industrial-military complex used the reports to pump up weapons purchases by the US military.. the military benefited and the military contractors benefited by getting billions in weapons contracts..they didn't care if the reports were true or not.. it was all about power for the military generals and money for the corporations thru fear mongering like what we have now with the "terrorist threat"
