That would have been funny if one of the Orcs shot Aragorn on the head with an arrow right after he finished his speech and turned around.

no, actually they gave arwen more character.aside from saving frodo, which was odd but cut down the books complexity, there is her decision of choosing a mortal life so she can stay with aragorn, which is a strong decision. although i must agree liv is good eye candy too. and actually the pushing gollum in was considered, but that is not what happened. if you look closer, frodo is only trying to get the ring back, which i think is the best way to do it. and the cliff is one of the best parts!!!!

Whether or not she is good eye candy is not in my department; I don't really care a whit. But I think if they wanted to develop her more, they could ahve done it.
It's a good point, Frodo trying to retrieve the Ring. I never thought of that. I guess if he were pushing Gollum, he wouldn't have body-slammed him. :P
