"Peacock spider"

Courtship of peacock spider Maratus volans from Australia, one of the most amazing spectacles in the animal world, filmed, edited and narrated by myself (Jurgen Otto). To put this work in perspective, I am not being paid for my work on these spider, it is just a hobby. I am neither a professional video editor nor a professional arachnologist. I am trying to do my best, but there are limitations. I appreciate all comments and always read them, even if I don't reply to some.

Absolutely BRILLIANT work in every respect!!! Profound respect and sincerest thanks. Such jaw-droppingly analogous behaviour to the Papua New Guinea Birds Of Paradise courtship lek displays (excepting the 'cannibalism'). Yet again, Oz gold-medals in Wondrous Strange ... I'm off to look at my polished boulder opal specimens ... again.

Thanks for this comment. The similarities to the birds of paradise really is remarkable. I hope one day there will be a documentary about both of these groups. I am wondering whether one could even find peacock spiders in PNG, not long ago it was connected to Australia, and perhaps in the highlands.....
