If your child is not talking and exhibits self injurious behavior (SIB) then your going to really need to learn the best ways to teach language or begin teaching alternative ways of communication. Alternative communication can be American sign language (ASL), The Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), and The Read / Write Program from UCLA by Lovaas. All operants of language will still need to be taught with those methods per defined by Dr. B. F. Skinner and you will find success by knowing how to motivate (see Koegel) and by knowing operant conditioning (schedules of reinforcement).

  • Thanks for the compliment to high school students. Very good video. I'm researching autism and communication because I can't always talk.

  • Nice vid man 5/5. Don't you think autism and aphasia are the same I mean when someone has aphasia they have speech problems; aphasia is the same and they both use echolalia because as an aphasia survivor I do what autistic kids do sometimes and I seem to have the same problems but how could I overcome aphasia problems (I got brain damage as a result of a car crash) so I don't mean to sound stupid it's just that I have aphasia and I wanna know some ways to get better at communicating.
