@rmsolympic1 I know this was 6 months ago, but I figured I'd comment anyway. It's actually better if you dont swing up like she was doing. If you bring your toes up to the bar, and then slide the bar down your legs to your hips, it gives you a better workout.
I am new to this exercise and am curious about using it in a workout. Can -or should - it be perhaps slowed down for muscular development, or is it just all about developing a certain movement?
You tuck your legs in a power-vault model vault. In the Petrov-vault model, you keep a straight trail leg throughout the entire vault. You never bring it in to your body.
whey i can do it now. Seems it will generally sort itself out the more you attempt to do it, like almost all pole vault drills. I'm assuming that you're keeping your legs out because it makes it harder, and that you tuck when vaulting? Just wondering if i'm doin them right :P

Interesting, I've been doing these with no swing, and many times I don't go back down I just touch the bar with my toes and go back up.
