  • What if you flatten it and after a while you want to get back to all the takes. Here you were able to just press undo, but if you have done other work, what should you do?

  • @22RecordsInc I believe flatten is a permanent commitment to the comp. Try going into your autosave archive and loading up an autosave that would get your take folder back. I never flatten. 1) I always save before every editing step i.e. I go to menu -> save copy as... -> TITLE - PRE BASS COMP RESET or whatever step. 2) Never flatten, instead, under the same menu as flatten is export current comp to new track. Always export to new track, then you can mute the take folder track and hide it

  • the only question i have is how do you use two different comps in one song on the same track? is there a way to place another comp or do you have to copy and paste from the cycling region?

  • @930Mann at the end of the region (take folder) there is a triangle you can click on that will show you the list of takes and the active comp. If you only see one comp (the one you have just worked on), select duplicate comp. Now you will see comp 1 and comp 2. Make sure comp 2 is checked and make your changes. Now you can go back and forth between the different comps. If you want a third, just duplicate another one and make your changes, so on and so forth.

  • thanks for that from down under............:)

  • Great tutorial, but why is the bass out of time?

  • good tutorial! thank you....

  • Thanks! Good to know.

  • @930Mann I could be completly wrong. but my guess would be, record the takes on another track. then make ur final comp. then flatten it, then copy the flattened comp onto the track you want it on.... hope that helps. but meby i didnt answer your exact question.
