Mihaela In Motion

My name is Mihaela DuVal. I perform contortion and have a passion for dancing with my hula hoop. I heard about the Young & Free Alberta Dance Challenge and decided to call in a few favours to make a video just for this contest. It took one week to prepare the shoot and we Shot this film 2 days before the contest deadline. Our cinematographer and I then put in a 16 hour day of editing and finished with 12 hours to spare! Thank you to all my friends who helped me produce this fun little demo.

I have plans to move to a different city to get professional training as soon as possible. Where I can continue to practice Contortion, begin Aerial training, hoops, ect. and pursue my performing career further than local gigs.Red Deer, Alberta is where I have been an independent solo artist (Contortionist) and street performer since 2006, but there is no place in this city to seek Professional Circus training so I can learn more, and practice safely.

I'm still here without the money to move yet. So I entered the YoungFreeAlberta Dance Challenge for the chance to win 4,000 dollars for submitting this video and getting the most votes.

I really like this video! I've always wanted to get into contortion but I've heard that your body won't be able to perform if you start after age 25, is that right?

Also I don't think we have any contortion schools in Lethbridge! ;)
