And please don' t misunderstand me, i think Yamaguchi Seigo is a great master doing a lot of great stuff. I just think, that there in aikido is to little efforts to develope a more realistic view of how an attacker could and would respond.

His technichs is perfect for the attack. But why do we seldom see attacks where uke is trying to hit toris head with a direct blow against the head. Thats the most common thing to do nowadays - chudanski tsuki. Karate people would often do that. Nobody tries to go for the opponents wrist and keeps on trying to hold it. Sometimes you will in aikido see blows coming from the side against the neck or head - yokomen uchi - a little bit more realistic i think.
