@pistonpkm An adult male brown bear has absolutely nothing to fear from a tiger, so they are not afraid of tigers one bit. They face tigers all the time when the tiger has a fresh kill and, more often than not, take the kill away from the tiger. The Siberian Tiger Project says that tigers always back away or get killed; they can't deny the demands of brown bears. There is not one record of an adult male brown bear being killed by a tiger and you can't provide any evidence that states otherwise.
@pistonpkm Actually, two large male tigers were found killed by brown bears in the year 2000. An escaped adult zoo tiger was once killed by a bear in the Clyde Beatty Zoo. There were pit fights staged in 19th cent. California between bears and other animals (lions, tigers, bulls, etc.) and the always bears won. Adult boar brown bears have little to fear from tigers, as they are avoided even when hibernating. They quite often take kills from tigers, and they kill any tiger that tries to fight.
The records shows adult brown bears being killed by siberian tigers and that there are no records of bears killing a tiger. they are afraid of tigers for they are one of tiger's main diet.
The size and strength of bears make them appear sluggish, but they actually have very deceptive speed. A brown bear can run at 40mph and, unlike the quick-tiring feline, the bear can keep up this speed for miles at a time. Tiger killing move: neck bite, prevented by the bear's arms. Bear killing tactic: skull crushing. Although intelligence is debatable, evidence surprisingly favors the bear in this category. (They've been known to use tools in the wild; tigers haven't.)
this from wikipedia "Siberian tigers and brown bears can be competitors and usually avoid confrontation; however, tigers will kill bear cubs and even some adults on occasion. Bears (Asiatic black bears and brown bears) make up 5–8% of the tiger's diet in the Russian Far East.[24] There are also a few records of brown bears killing tigers, either in self defense or in disputes over kills" so it sounds like an even match. And the Siberian Brown is only 70% the size of an alaskan brown
wrong Don American Grizzly Bears do kill buffalo. Secondly, I would take an Alaskan Brown bear over a Tiger, absolutely. An 11 foot tall 1500 lb killing machine would win out I do agree that both are amazing animals
siberian tiger have been known to kill adult sibrian brown bears.. and siberian brown bears reaches the same sixe as grizzleys as they are the same race after all.. grizzley migrated from sibiria to america after all.. but anywheys.. doesent matter who kills who.. what matters is that both are amazing animals, and needs to be protected.. both are capabel of kiling each other it all depend on the individual..

This was a very small bear. Had this encounter been against a coastal brown bear, let me put it this way:
Tiger: Agility, 10mph faster, sharper claws, longer canines. Strike force: 400lbs. Bite force: 1000lbs. Hit rate: 5-10%.
Bear: Strength, incredible stamina, longer claws, protective fat, fur and muscle, size. Strike force: 1000lbs. Bite force: 1800lbs. Diet: 80-90% plants.
There are records of brown bears killing adult male tigers. There are none of tigers killing adult male brown bears.
