  • during this ifr flight would he have been following instructions or left to navigate himself and what would happen if he had to deviate from his flight plan would he tell the atc first?

  • When flying IFR you are either flying a heading given by ATC or to a waypoint on an IFR chart, which is accepted on a flight plan or given by ATC. No deviation unless you request it and approved by ATC. We ask for shortcuts and ATC mostly allow it if traffic allows. Flying IFR is very easy. ATC do all the real work.

  • yes but dont when you file a flight plan how are you informed by atc if one part o the fp needs to be editted for example the routing you submitted takes you right into an airway or keeps you on an altitude not conforming to the even odd altitude rules? and ifr flight only works if you have an atc with a radar screen directing you so does that mean its impossible to do an ifr flight to say a remote island because you would be flying in cloud with no atc to tell u of any converging planes? thx

  • Flight plans for europe go through Brussels. They approve or reject them. We have a PC based program that works all this out for us. It makes out the flight plan, which we file. ATC can then change this to get us round traffic or to help us with short cuts. If we had radio failure ATC would expect us to fly the filed and approved route. Airways are always ATC controlled, they're Class A airspace. The remote island idea is uncontrolled airspace and it's up to the pilot to see and avoid.

  • What is the cruising speed with the plane full? 8 people full tank level 250 upwards

  • Can't take 8 Pax and full fuel. At that level true airspeed is around 260 Kts.

Full fuel and 2 crew would probably allow 4 Pax depending on weight and luggage.

  • beautiful beautiful airplane

  • good point didnt think of that

  • That's sure right. It is also something which puzzles me, as I haven't yet seen many videos on youtube where there is only 1 pilot. I would think that companies would strive to fly it with only 1 pilot as it saves money. Maybe the insurance is more than just hiring another pilot.

  • and whats more amazing is that its safe and certified for single pilot ops
