Cool, I like how the pantograph sparks! Does the pantograph go "up and down", or is it at a default height and are all the wires at a default height?

All the pans are fixed just below the height of the wires. The sparking effect is done by mounting a small LED in the pan head. This collects its power from the track via a bridge rectifier so the LED works in both directions. It is switched on by a reed switch mounted under the trailing bogie triggered by fixed magnets burried under the track.

Thanks. The 89 is scratchbuilt using plasticard and a couple of hst cab roofs. The underframe was from a lima 47 and the bogies were modified from lima class 60's.
