Our project this sumer is to build a new school in Cambodia. This video shows the existing school and the surrounding village- no electricity, no running water (except by hand pump from a well), no sewage system. It was a humbling experience, because the people were content with their life and it made me wonder whether possessions ever truly make us any happier or more fortunate. I only wish the children would get better education and medical care.

  • I was born in Ukraine but now I live in the US. This project, designing a school for a poor Cambodian village, was started by our class at USC, University of Southern California, Architecture school. To find out more, visit "designcambodia", our blog on "blogspot" Thanks for your comments!

  • Sorry, my video editing program only allows certain formats, and this song was one of the VERY FEW on my computer in that format. I'm traveling abroad, so I can not always download/obtain the right music. Again, my appologies

  • Excellent video, very intelligent observations. Thank you!

In fact it does seem like having more useful things simply cates more work, and anyway you will have a certain level of problems. Jung said that fundamental problems in life never find solution, one simply has to outgrow them. Thanks for the video, I'll check what else you have.
