I know a lot of people aint gonna like what im about to say, but its a fact, you only need half an ounce of brain matter to understand it...If you pledge allegiance to your flag, you can not also pledge allegiance to your government, your president, your country or any other thing at the same time! haha Why...because you can ONLY pledge your allegiance to any one cause or thing at any one time! It aint rocket science you know!

I don't say the pledge because I'm atheist and that's actually why we don't say it in our school, being forced to say the pledge is admitting there is a god, and with freedom of religion it's technically not aloud.

My school makes us say the pledge. I just face the flag and hold my hand over my chest so that people won't bug me. I'm already Chinese and Russian, I don't need any more labels in school.

The very essense of our government is our ability to CHANGE things thru a process of elections. NOT a perfect system, (Jefferson warned us of this:'we (citizens) must be diligent defenders of liberty'..apathy is a weakness in our present system and the apathy "business" is "a-boomin!" It may NOT be perfect for you, or ME, but I will die trying to make it so for my legacy (4 kids:)) "Bitching" on the sidelines will not help anyone! Plz, get educated, get involved, thank those who gave us freedom!

Zachpach, blaspid, et.al..., we get it, you are anti-American, pro-anarchy, and anti-literacy...lol! I (not being faceteious) If you can think of a better way to run a country (ie: a way that is better than the democratic-republic which you abhore..please explain your view. You have a great chance here in the USA to be born (see China's laws), become educated, obtain a job, prosper, VOTE, run for political office, and actually come up with a better document than the U.S. Constitution.

As for Carlkr's video,...the "pledge" is, in my humble opinion, a general statement of our desire as a nation to give liberty to everyone who lives here. It is a framework to state our intentions. Things continue to change; and bigotry, racism, and intolerance is NOT trending upward, but waning. It is far from perfect but I think we can agree it is a place many folks risk their lives to get to..Please, if you feel u are anything but free, get involved and try to change things for u and everyone.

I'm very afraid for the future of this country. I have four children and in my relatively short life, I have seen a huge degredation of our moral "fabric" as a whole. Most of the comments on this video, or any video for that matter are literally FILLED with foul language. Another trend I see is the complete lack of respect for ANYONE!! I guess the anonymity with the internet allows SOME to spew "F-bombs" and insults freely. I can only hope they would not conduct themselves that way in person.
