The truth is that its not just The Opry. Its the industry. The Opry will rely on new inductees - such as Rascal Flatts - to take it forward, even though their popularity will only be for a few more years...even though there will not be anymore "new legends", only "has beens." The industry stopped turning out "legends" long ago because America's pop culture doesnt treasure the past...we're always looking for the next best thing. These guys are great for the Opry for now. They'll help fill seats.

@venticoffee Well, maybe it s because the Opry is too involved in the politics of country music. Next inductee will be Taylor Swift or Darius Rucker. Neither is country music. But, you may disagree. Hell, dig up my old friend, James Brown. he appeared on a Porter Wagoner set. Make him a member. get the point? Every song that the Flatts sang sounded like the one they just sang. Talent at it s best. just my opinion.

This is great for Rascal Flatts! Well deserved and congratulations!! I was looking over the list of members in the Grand Ole Opry and noticed that George Strait, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Keith Urban and Taylor Swift are NOT members. That seems odd. Anybody know why these stars are not members?
