Jerry Kill leaves the field after his first victory as the Head Coach of the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers against the Miami University (Ohio) Redhawks. As he leaves the field his wife, Rebecca, comes up to him and gives him a hug and kiss, and the student section chants his name (Jerry).
Coach Kill suffered a seizure during the final moments of the previous game against New Mexico State, causing a delay in the final moments as he was taken off the field in a stretcher (his team would fail in its final drive after the game resumed). After leaving the hospital, and still shaky, Kill opted to return to the sideline and guided the Gophers to their first victory in 2011, with a defensive stand as time expired.
The outpouring of support came with his return to the sideline, the win, and the respect he had from the Gophers fanbase.
