  • ahh! needs more bari on that D! (concert F) i think theres too much noise there, but great! we just got done with this for jazz night at our school! (6 hours of jazz and blues by the students and alumni!) great song!

  • Bay City Central played this song for our Band Bounce event gotta love the Bari Sax part, yes i play the Bari Sax :D

  • Sax solo - out of time. Sax section out of tune with each other. Trumpet solo was awfully quiet, so I decided to sing it myself. Drummer seemed confused by the ending, nowhere near enough bass for my liking.

  • Lol every time I see people playing this song they never do improv solos, i dont know why lol

  • Lol yeah whenever I do my solos I use the B flat blues scale

  • but one thing i seriously gotta say... the background HAS to be quieter for the soloist... i can't hear the soloing trumpet at all

either that, or he just has to play up :P

    but overall, nice playing :D

  • Yea my jazz band this for our concert. Our alto and turmpet just used the blues scale for their solo instead of the written solo. It sounds better and it changes every time, with gives it more zip.

I will gladly check yours out. I wish I had a video of our band performing it, but my band director won't let me tape us.

  • He/she should control that hi-hat more! (I think it's spelled like that) Also, if you forget your solo improve or something just don't stand there...or someone else should start playing it. You should ALWAYS be prepared for something like that to happen! Hey...our drum player does like a measure-2meausre fill at the end. It sound cool like that!! Try it!

  • Geez those drums are too freakin loud! But the band is good...but those drums! Why no trumpet solo? Is the sax solo improvng or off beat? idk...sounds like ya got a real good trumpet player. Check out my page we're playing this song. It doesn't sound too hot though cuz it's outside but I'm posted the inside version right now.
