OMG it is so great to hear from you! I am mixing 1 part pigment- 10 cement - 2 silica. So do I mix 1 pigment - 8 cement - 4 silica? You are such a BLESSING.

@0892872841 I did it for ten years in San Antonio Texas. What 'cured" me was 9-11 and all those businessmen with concrete dust all over their clothes... remember?!?! I looked like that every day for twelve years.

@nanadede1952 add some sand to the color mix . It should help keep pouring in a little at a time until they come loose easily...

i HAVE READ SOMEWHERE THEY USED TO WIPE DIESEL ON THE PLATE. WHAT IS USED NOW?
But I see them rubbing something on the plate what is that?

@nanadede1952 They often sprinkle cement on top to absorb any water.

What is used so the tile comes off the plate?
What is the difference between second and final layer?
nanadede1952 4 months ago
@nanadede1952 The middle layer mixture is designed to absorb water from the pattern later. The final layer (back of tile) has slightly larger aggregate and less ability to absorb water.

@nanadede1952 The tile rests on a steel plate and is formed on the sides by a tile 'frame' which is also made of steel. The frame is unbolted and removed. The tile slides off the steel plate easily.
