This third part of the run introduces the famous "BOSS rush" we all know and love (*cough*)! This was the first game in the series to include these intense BOSS battles. In fact, you have to defeat five bosses in a row, and if you die once, you have to restart the whole level from the beginning! How horrible!!! @__@
In Gradius 2's BOSS rush, you'll be facing the famous Big Core from the first Gradius, and the runner-ups are the Brain Golem, the Tetran Core and Zelos Force. Those three BOSSES also appeared in Salamander (or Life Force here in North America). Finally, the last rival you'll be facing is the Covered Core, which, obviously, makes its first appearance in Gradius 2.

I like in this game that you hear the boss music from gradius1 and from Lifeforce you fight the bosses again.

Lol
It's name is Zero.
In KDL3, the big white eye thing is called Zero.
They look identical except for one being a big white bloody blob and the other being a huge brainy thingy

If you're talking about the Zelos Force(the big orb) then yes, it looks like Dark Mind. I even compared them, and they look almost exactly the same!

Does anyone else think that boss looks like Dark Mind from Kirby and the Amazing Mirror?
