Finally got my new Sony A33 camera today (to go with the new Kala slimline tenor spruce/lacewood ukulele) so quickly rattled off this clip to try out the camera's sound and video quality. Didn't have much light so the picture is a little grainy, but the audio is better than I expected ( no ghosts or overheating :). Clip is straight from the camera, mpeg, sony 16-105 lens on 16 mm, manual focus and exposure lock (to stop either from wandering) I bought this camera with Youtube in mind, and I'm pretty happy with the first cut. Also the uke is fabulous -- much more than just a "travel" uke. Best I have played for my style.

  • It's amazing such a thin uke could produce a pretty loud tune.

  • @idrnoel Yeah, I always found tenor ukes a bit "boomy" - the thin body balances the tone and is also really comfortable. I've tried all the Kala travel tenors and they are all great; this lacewood version is a particularly pretty one ;)

  • The sound is very good , that is the onboard microphone? The picture looks fine to me on my monitor. Thanks for the vid, these new a33/a55's are very interesting to me, I hope you put up some more videos, thank you.

  • @peacenliberty09 Yes that's just the built-in mics. They seem fine for this use.
