Here we go over how to deal with exponents when multiplying and dividing monomials, as well as raising a power to a power. When multiplying and the bases are the same just add the exponents. When dividing and the bases are the same just subtract the exponents and the larger exponent determines where the term goes. When raising a power to a power multiply the exponents.

  • so then how do u know if the A goes on top of the fraction line or the bottom?

  • @tennisboi1197

With division, consider the variable x. If the x in the numerator has a larger exponent than the denominator, then the answer will involve x in the numerator with the difference.

If the x in the denominator has the larger exponent, then the answer will involve the x in the denominator with the difference.
