This is a tutorial video on how to take a perfect goal kick.

Il repeat the tips from the video.

1 - Make a divot with your boots and place the football in front of your divot. You make a divot so you can get your foot underneath the football more.

2 - Take six paces back then two left or right depending what foot you kick the ball with.

3 - Make sure your planting foot (your non-striking foot) is in line with the ball.

4 - Make sure you hit the middle of the football with your laces on your boot.

Hopefully this works for you, BE AWARE that you might have to tweak your paces back depinding on what height and weight you are.

I am in the progress of creating more videos of tips for goalkeepers, If you found this video useful subscribe for more videos. Also don't hesitate to leave me some ideas for other tips in the comment box, i might turn them into a video for you!

  • Hey nice video im 12 and do you think that if i used this technique without practicing on a really pumped ball i could kick it some yards? About how many?

  • @Ineedtolearnfreestyl Hi mate, i would say with a flat ball you could kick 20-40 yards but what i would say is try to practice with a pumped up ball, because your legs will get stronger and you will use a pumped up ball in a game. I hope this helps.

  • I STILL CANT FIGURE OUT ONE THING, ITS not realated to shooting, but how do you know when to attack the player when he is comeing at u, if you answer this last question i would really apprceat it.

  • @assasinmace363 Judge the situation and make one decision and stick to it. Stick to one decision either wait for the shot or dive at his feet, if you come out and stop you are leaving the opportunity for the striker to chip the ball over you or have a shot. Also, look for his touch. If he takes a heavy touch you might be able capatalise on it and pounce on it. One more thing, make sure your starting position is right. You want to stand roughly a couple of steps behind the penalty spot.

  • i got a questin, i got everything right but i can lean to the left off the ball like u do can you hellp?

  • @assasinmace363 i don't know if you notice but i lean so i can swing my kicking leg freely. On my run up just before my foot strikes the ball my left arm swings out, this is so i can balance my body weight out so im perfectly balanced before i kick the ball. I hope this was useful.

  • i use your trick there but it won't do in a hard ground..

actually, most of the pitch are hard ground.. and i can't take the goal kick perfectly..

    what should i do then??

  • @happyfeet327 its not necessary no, but it helps to get more lift on the ball. obviously you cant do this on astro turf if you ever play on it

  • Hey our nationals team plays on a turf field so is like making a hole in the ground really necessary?

  • @MrRosso2011 haha, I'm working on it....
