Largest female patient

Renee Williams, who weighs 900-pounds, has become the largest female patient known to have undergone gastric bypass surgery.


Gastric bypass surgery is a common surgery these days, but one not normally performed on a woman her size.




Williams weight nearly doubled after a drunk driver crashed into her a few years ago.
She hopes the weight loss surgery will give her a better future.

I don't think they should have performed the surgery on her at this size. She was over 900 lbs, and very ill. Twelve days after the surgery, she started to experience chest pain and shortness of breath. Soon after that, she went to full cardiac arrest, a massive heartattack and died. Her body was not able to handle the surgery. Poor woman. It's sad but, it also serves as a warning to people who are overweight and getting heavier by the week. TURN yourself around before it's too late to change.

@SoulPowerful i totaly agree, its not trying to asept yourself as you are its that if you dont loose the weight, your going to get bigger and bigger until your not going to walk, the problem is not that you have to be skinny its that you have to be healthy, so try to eat less junk food and try to do exersise 3 times a week so you dont get bigger.

I guess I was preaching to the choir. So a question if you know more about Renee's case; what treatment did they try throughout these years? I would think a gastric by pass would have been more useful years ago and not at this point.

I think it has more to do with genetics. I was adopted by a skinny family and was the only fattie. My mom was a nurse and very strict about food. I became bulimic by 6 yrs old and anorexic by 14 yrs old. My period stopped at 20 yrs old. I started eating healthy food (less than 2,000 cal a day) and gained 35 lbs in a month! I learned that restricting calories only makes you fatter. I recommend being active 1 to 3 hours a day and eat food for nutrition, not low calorie.
