Halo was inspired by it. They didn't copy it. It happens all the time in movies, books, and games. You could say that Dragonball copied Aliens because they had characters that looked similar to Alien.

when you think about it halo kinda copied aliens and predator. the made the elites very similar to the predators including the name and the cloak. and the copied the aliens intro, the scene where they show the ship arriving to the planet. so if the people that made halo didnt get sued, I'll be very shocked

Johnson is basically Apone. The whole Halo series took a lot of inspiration from Aliens. Which is cool.
