You should really say the idea that higher prices will induce economic activity via inflation of the money supply is what the government believes. Will it work? I don't know but stealing from the poor and middle class to help them does not sound like a viable solution. But it's what they are doing we can't stop it and we need to capitalize on it to survive.
This way you sound like someone who working and is not an "evil speculator" that the government blames higher prices on.
