Well your friend is a dumbass and doesn't know squat about drifting as what would happen if he did what he thinks is drifting is pretty much spin out of control and probably crash, whereas you are actually right do a proper drift once you learn how to time it perfectly eq. pull the e-brake in time shift down gears when to power on when to counter steer and all of the other fundamentals needed for the e-brake slide.

To help solve an arguement, please could you explain (in a way that even a woman would understand) how to do drifting?

My mate reckons that by wacking the handbrake on and the back end sliding, that's a drift. Whereas I reckon it's a question of flicking the handbrake on, turning in and power on ,and feathering the throttle to control the slide.
