  • that is wonderful, I am so thankful for the work that you do. Maybe some day we can work together in some fashion, if you'd like my speaking information please let me know. I have now traveled around the country and parts of Canada for 10 years and reached over 250,000 people. I hope we can stay in touch.

I am currently working with someone who uses the ASIST model as well thats why I ask

  • Kevin I read about your story in a book called Survivors Club and I tell it when I deliver suicide prevention programmes (ASIST). I believe that we all need to try and reach out to others to help prevent suicide and these course give people confidence to do that. Wishing you well, keep strong. Jill

  • @Katarino05 Hi Jill, Do you work from the UK with Ayls Cole King?

  • Good for you Kevin!! Way to go :-)

  • @3ratones thanks

  • Kevin, I was very touched by your story on the documentary I saw. I don't suffer from Bi-polar disorder, but I have a problem with anxiety disorder. Your story has in many ways given me hope and i just want to thank you.

  • @Sealy2u wonderful glad you found hope in the story thats why i tell it.

  • I attempted suicide in 1979, I was 21 years old then. I put a 12 gauge shotgun to my chest and pulled the trigger. Why I survived is a long story but I will never forget the first thing I thought when I heard that gun go off. "No, I don't want to die!"

Glad you made it Kevin. Indeed, by God's grace!

  • thanks for your videos!let's hope to help some-one

  • Hey, Kevin. I think what you do by speaking to people about depression and your experience is great. Just a footnote, though. My name is KEVIN HINES as well. Do you realize how many people mistake me for you?! Can you guess how many times I've been asked if I'm OK? MORE THAN YOU KNOW...

  • Too bad I don't live in San Fransico because I would be dead already but I kinda wish I visited if only to maybe meet you. I bet it would really hurt hitting the water so fast.

  • Kevin, I work for a childrens charity, but in Scotland the suicide prevention programme that we use is the Canadian model Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training - the main message being that it is everyone's responsibility in the community to reach out and help prevent suicide. The course gives people the confidence to do this. Jill

  • @jkeivn057
